Start Their StoryOur camp has been featured on local news as one of the premier summer camp destinations in Florida. See what the buzz is all about!
Camp Osprey was founded by Sandy & Gary Bembry. Sandy — a registered nurse and mother of five sons — built the camp on a lifelong belief that kids grow the most when they unplug, step outside, and discover their own strength.
We keep enrollment limited on purpose. Every camper is known by name. Every counselor is like a big brother or sister. This isn't a mega-camp — it's a place that feels like a second home.
Something magical happens when kids trade screens for streams. They learn to canoe, conquer a 40-foot ropes course, ride horses, and make friends that last a lifetime.

No devices, no distractions — just pure, unplugged fun. Camp Osprey gives kids the gift of real-world adventure.
Shy kids find their voice. Anxious kids find their courage. Every camper leaves more confident and more capable.
Sharing a cabin, conquering challenges together, laughing around a campfire — these bonds school just can't match.
One price covers everything — all activities, chef-prepared meals, cabin lodging, even weekly laundry. No surprise fees.

Honest answers to what parents ask us most before sending their camper.
Safety is our foundation. Camp Osprey was founded and is overseen by a registered nurse, our staff is fully background-checked, and our waterfront is supervised by Red Cross–certified lifeguards. Our 40-foot challenge course is professionally certified, the property is gated and secure, and we hold a strict zero-tolerance policy for bullying.
Camp Osprey is a residential, high-adventure program with limited on-site medical and support staffing — not a medical or therapeutic facility. If your camper has any medical condition, disability, developmental or behavioral need, or takes medication, you must disclose it and speak with us before registering. We review every camper individually and work with families in good faith on reasonable accommodations; if we can't safely meet a camper's needs with our staffing and resources, we'll help point you toward a better-suited program. Please note we are not staffed to administer insulin, manage seizure protocols, or provide one-on-one or behavioral/therapeutic support, and every camper must be able to participate safely in a group setting. See our full Health & Safety Policy.
First-timers are our specialty. We keep groups small so no camper is overlooked, pair every cabin with warm, genuinely caring counselors, and offer activities for every comfort level — never any pressure. If your camper is a little nervous, our day-camp option is a gentle way to ease into the camp experience.
Everything. One all-inclusive price covers every activity, weekly laundry, and meals — three chef-prepared meals a day plus snacks for overnight campers, and breakfast & lunch for day campers. Overnight campers also get air-conditioned cabin lodging. No hidden fees or surprise add-ons; the only optional extra is the weekend excursion add-on.
Campers ages 7 to 15. Cabins and activities are grouped by age, so every camper is surrounded by kids their own age.
Yes. We accommodate special dietary needs — just let us know during registration so our kitchen can plan ahead for your camper.
No — and it's one of the best parts. Going screen-free helps campers be fully present, make real friendships, and soak up every moment. You can still follow along on our Facebook page for photos and updates throughout the week.
Overnight sessions check in Sunday at 4:00 PM and check out Saturday at 10:00 AM. Your camper's counselors greet them at arrival with a tour and get-acquainted games. You'll find the full packing list, dress code, and check-in details on our Campers Corner page.
Registration takes just a few minutes through our secure portal. With several 2026 weeks already sold out, we recommend reserving early. Have a question about payment or a specific session? Call us at 1-941-928-6860 or send us a message — we're always happy to help.
Still have a question on your mind?
Register Your CamperImportant — please read before registering. Camp Osprey is a residential, high-adventure outdoor program with limited on-site medical and support staffing — we are not a medical or therapeutic facility. If your camper has any medical condition, disability, developmental or behavioral need, or takes medication, you must disclose it and speak with us before registering. Every enrollment is subject to an individual review to confirm we can keep your camper, and everyone around them, safe.
We welcome every family's inquiry and will work with you in good faith to identify reasonable accommodations. Following an individualized assessment, if we determine we cannot safely meet a camper's needs with the staffing and resources our program provides — or that participation would pose a direct safety risk to the camper or others that cannot be reasonably mitigated — we may be unable to offer or continue enrollment, and we'll gladly help point you toward a program better suited to support your camper.
So families know what to expect, our program is not staffed or equipped to:
Every camper must be able to participate safely in a group setting and follow camp rules and staff direction without posing a safety risk to themselves or others. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for violent, threatening, or unsafe behavior and for any unacceptable or illegal conduct; a camper who engages in such behavior may be dismissed without refund, and depending on the offense we may contact local authorities.
