ACTIVITIES AT CAMP OSPREY

So much to do at Camp Osprey!

There is no shortage of activities at Camp Osprey! There is

sure to be something every child can enjoy!

HORSEBACK RIDING

What is camp without horses? For many campers, horses are the reason they come to summer camp. Our gentle horses and riding coaches have experience with children. We have a beginner's program that features private lessons in a ring designed to develop riding skills safely and rapidly. When ready, they may join the trail riding groups on shaded trails that meander around Lake Dot and along the river.

CANOEING

Campers can paddle along the beautiful, shaded, and slow moving Little Manatee River. Experienced counselors will stop at the half-way point where campers will enjoy a beach area with a small waterfall and rope swing. The beautiful spot is canopied by an incredible antique train trestle. There are deer, turtles, otters, and lots of fish along the way.

FISHING

Lake Dot at the Camp Osprey is located toward the front entrance. Campers are provided with canoeing and fishing activities. Lake Dot is home to various aquatic life, including bass, sunfish, catfish, and soft shell turtles.

SWIMMING IN LAKE DOT

Summer is always a great time to cool off in beautiful Lake Dot. Enjoy "the blob" or just relax on some river tubes with friends. Another favorite is our 20 foot "Super Slip and Slide" whose final destination is Lake Dot. Something for everyone!

HANDMADE BOAT REGATTA

This will be an activity where our campers team up to make a raft, boat, or some sort of flotation device with the natural elements they can find on the premises to be entered in the "Lake Dot Handmade Boat Regatta".

TRI-LEVEL CHALLENGE COURSE

Our 40 foot high Challenge Course offers a series of physical and problem-solving challenges that build upon one another until the summit is reached! Campers wear protective gear and are supervised by certified instructors. It ends with a long zipline ride that leaves the camper exhilarated and hungry for more!!!!!

LOW-LEVEL ROPES COURSE

For our younger campers to get started on. Conquering this level will build confidence so that in coming summers, they can attack the monster Tri-Level Challenge Course. They also have their own zipline!

PAINTBALL

We are so excited about our paintball area!!! Get ready for realistic, high-adrenaline, extreme paintball!!!! Acres of woods are filled with bunkers, barriers, forts, and unexpected surprises! Some of the games included will be "Capture the Flag", "Bomb the Base", "Attack and Defend", and "Protect the President". We will provide all paintball guns, hoppers, safety equipment, CO2, O-rings, and paintballs. If you plan on participating in this activity, you will need to bring long-sleeve, layered clothing as the paintballs sting if skin is exposed.

We will provide an opportunity for the less experienced, younger campers to participate in a beginner's paintball experience; however, they will still need the layered clothing.
